2010Michele Anderson of Pinkle Toes Photography is another photographer whose work I could probably feature all day long. Approached as more of a lifestyle session, this newborn session by Pinkle Toes Photography captures both intimacy between the parents and the sweet little details of a newborn (who was actually 4 weeks old). I especially love the first image here because it’s such a simple image that shows connection between the family and where they seem totally unaware of the camera.
Check out more photographs from Pinkle Toes Photography (but if you’re like me you’ll end up spending hours on her site which has a section specifically for photographers).
From Pinkle Toes Photography: The newborn in this session was a bit older than most “newborns” (I usually like to do newborn sessions at less than 10 days old, but she was 4 weeks old). I have to admit I was a little bit nervous about that because I hadn’t photographed an older newborn in many years. But it turned out to be wonderful and instead of trying all of those foldy, bendy newborn poses (which I’ve honestly been trying to move away from), we went a little bit more lifestyle. I’m actually more drawn to lifestyle photography for newborns anyway and I love capturing the family and their environment as it is with their new baby. It seems to record the memory of those early days so much more powerfully.

Love this! Thanks for sharing. I have a newborn session on Wednesday and the baby is 4 weeks and I was also nervous, but I love taking the natural lifestyle approach to the session. I am totally going to use that :)

I have been a fan of Michele’s work for sometime and adore her approach to photography. It is both inspiring and breathtaking.
As I have recently started my own photography business with my good friend, we take comfort in blogs such as this for that creative edge. Whenever we are in the need for fresh ideas, we will take a peek at Inspire Me Baby and Pinkle Toes. They are a must in any photographer’s favourite blog list.
It is creative resources like this that keep a photographer’s work fun and fresh. Thank you for sharing these sessions!
