We normally don’t do a full feature on Fridays but we couldn’t pass this session up since it was so appropriate for Halloween (submitted by Crave Photography at 2:30 a.m. PST last night!). This ghost angel idea is one that could possibly have been disastrous if not done correctly but Crave Photography accomplishes the entire look so beautifully – from location, to styling, and processing. I hope this inspires you to push the boundaries of your sessions, it certainly inspires me! Now, don’t you all wish you were approached by people who own old mills?

From Crave Photography: I was approached by a friend about doing a session in an old mill that her father owned.  She had this great idea to do some “ghost” photos.  I had very short notice and threw my ideas together the day before the shoot.  I love how this concept shoot could be creepy to some and spiritual to others.  Above all it was fun, creative, and one of my favorite shoots!

Last month, you requested What to Wear guides for siblings and seniors. Two outfits from the What to Wear Siblings were put together by Gap. All clothes from the What to Wear Seniors are from Wet Seal. If you haven’t been to Wet Seal’s website, they have an online application for putting together outfits. Download the What to Wear Siblings here and What to Wear Seniors here.

As always, please feel free to use these on your website and/or blog and to put your logo on them. :) Happy Thursday!

After seeing Jules Trandem’s featured session of her son in his Halloween costume, Gina Maxine Photography was determined to take photographs of her own son in his costume. Here’s what she was able to do with a few items from the dollar store and a boat from Etsy seller Willowbaus. Don’t you just love it? Be sure to read below on how Gina tackles the 2 p.m. sun. Now, I’m determined to photograph my 18 month old in his monkey costume. Wish me luck!

From Gina Maxine Photography: After seeing Jules’ session with Brooks on this blog, I was determined to take photos of my son in his Halloween costume.  He wanted to be a pirate and since we live next to the beach, I chose Shell Beach as the location.  I had all these ideas in mind, a map, coins, treasure chest, but I had to settle for what the little 4 year old wanted, haha.  Most of the items came in a set from the dollar store and the boat is from an Etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/shop/willowbaus).  I took photos around 2pm and the sun was a bit higher than my liking, but with the hood on my 85mm, it turned out well.  Happy Halloween, everyone!!

I’ll admit that I would be a little nervous if I were asked to photograph a session with four boys. Heidi Chowen Photography does it so beautifully here, she makes it looks so easy. Her secret? She says that she kept them active during the session. I just love the personality that comes through in these photographs.

From Heidi Chowen Photography: This photo shoot was a lot of fun.  It took place in Durango, Colorado.  We went to a park on the river so that we could have lots to play on so I could keep them occupied as well as let them just have fun. The four brothers were so close, so they were quite easy to photograph all together as they wanted to just play as a group anyways.  The older brothers made sure the younger ones were safe and they watched out for one another they whole time… which was so sweet and made my job a lot easier.  I just kept them constantly active so that they were not bored and made sure that they were aware to look at me when I needed them too.
