With most kids in the US only a few days away from their first day back at school (many have already started), here’s a back-to-school session from Maureen Wilson Photography to start the week. This kindergartener is all smiles and Maureen’s awesome styling sensibility creates a few different approaches from which her client can choose. Check out the desk! When ever I see a great prop like this one, I’m reminded of how important it is to catalog them — especially if you’re running out of room and have to store your larger props. You never know when you’re going to need that quirky item you picked off eBay two years ago. :) Please check out Maureen’s message below and leave a comment!

My client wanted to do something that would represent her son as a Kindergartener and I immediately knew what we were going to do. I had an antique school desk sitting in my studio waiting for the right session!! To finish up the set-up, I pulled some vintage books (if books that I read when I was little can be considered vintage already) and apples. I immediately knew what field I wanted to use because I had been watching these flowers for weeks and the setting sunlight would be perfect!! With all the green, I knew all the red was really going to pop.
