Newborn sessions are my most favorite type of sessions and the only thing that makes this better is when there are TWINS! The main thing to remember when photographing twins is to maximize your time when both of them are both sleeping soundly. If one of the peanuts would start to fuss, I would take that opportunity to snag a few individuals but if they were both sleepy peanuts, I’d work with them together. While I don’t always use an assistant during newborn shoots (in the form of my amazing little sister), I always, always use one with twin newborn sessions. The extra pair of hands is imperative when spotting and preparing each shot. While I do plan out most set-ups before my clients arrive (what blankets, props, accessories, etc.. to use), I always incorporate pieces that my clients bring into the sessions (most often purchased from some of my favorite vendors… Lilian.Grace, Trinket & Pixie and Creme De La Baby!).

Most importantly, in any newborn session, keep the focus on the baby, don’t over process your images when editing and always, always remember newborn safety is your priority!!

I do offer newborn mentoring workshops… for more information, visit here: http://stephaniecotta.com/?page_id=14 or email me at info@stephaniecottaphotography.com
