My name is Janice Freeland a Senior Photographer in South Carolina and South Florida area.

Meet Tatyana, High School Senior at Miramar High School. Tatyana came to me after taking her Senior Picture with the photographer the school requires the senior’s to use. She was not happy with the out come. Tatyana felt the images did not capture the real her.

For Tatyana’s session we chose to go to some of here favorite places, the Mall and a local park, where she hangs out every weekend with her friends. We decide not to do the typical Mall pictures but to use some cool spots on the out skirts to give it a more urban feel. For the park pictures we chose to a Bohemian feel with sun flare in the back to complete the look of the outfit she choose.

Tatyana is a beautiful young lady and it was a joy to photograph her.

  • Always scout your locations ahead of time. My senior wanted to have some images taken at the mall but I wanted to make sure the images would stay timeless. Instead of shooting in the mall we chose to shoot in some cool area outside.
  • If you shoot in a private area, make sure you get permission from the owner. I spoke to the mall manager before hand to make sure I would not have any issues on the day of the shoot.
  • You should never under estimate a location. With a shallow depth of field you can shoot almost anywhere.
  • Choose locations to match your senior’s wardrobe. There is nothing worse than having a beautiful Bohemian dress in an urban background.
