Does anything say summer (or childhood) like a lemonade stand? We’ve featured some great sets in the past year, but the lemonade stand is a classic that I hope inspires you to think creatively about the mini sessions you can offer in your community. The little details like bright paper straws, cute colorful dresses, and lots of lemons are simple props that make these portraits come alive. Please leave your feedback below! Share, Like and Pin!!

Here is a lovely session from Alisha Jordan Brown, a photographer from Conway SC, specializing in babies, children and families. This is a classic example of how simplicity often creates the most beautiful images. A richly layered natural setting, simple styling, minimal props and processing coupled with the right time of day make for a wonderful addition to any photographer’s portfolio.

Here’s a submission from Erica Nicole Photography that features two adorable little girls, a 1950′s inspired baking party, and lovely rich pink and green tones to inspire your next kids session. Vintage is a huge trend in everything from crafts to fashion and Erica gets it just right as these images still have a contemporary feel ideal for a commercial client.

Photographing your own children is difficult and as photographers we often find we’re not being “fair” to our own sweet inspiration or ourselves. So here’s a session from Andrea Martin Photography, featuring her children, that I know you’re going to love, especially this time of year. The spring-time yellow just bursts from these images, perfectly complimented by the blue. Please leave your feedback below and get ready for more amazing sessions in the next week as we’re getting a ton of beautiful spring-inspired work.

Winter Session in Miami by Studio Four 13
Posted in: Child, Inspire
Looking for a little color inspiration? These vibrant portraits from Studio Four 13 are rich with color and life. The variation in this session is a great example of how different textures, patterns and layers in both styling and location can inspire a photographer. We’ve seen some beautiful graffiti and urban art photo sessions lately and I love how this one incorporates the natural patterns as well as the urban. Please enjoy and leave feedback below.

This session was scheduled on February 5th in Miami, where pretty much year ’round we can shoot outdoors. The morning of this session there was a cold front and it was in the low 40′s. In Miami people break out space heaters and winter clothes for the duration (2 days). This cold front was very unexpected and we couldn’t reschedule. Some of the outfits were very thin tops, so we improvised and threw on scarves, my jacket, her stepmom’s jacket, etc. We layered her in anything that made her comfortable. The art on the wall really made these sessions stand out and matched our crazy outfits perfectly.
